Your Accomplishments; Our Gratitude
Thank you for volunteering to support children’s cancer research. Because of your work-and other volunteers like you—there were 1,336 Walk Teams, 12,404 Walkers, 84 Hikers and 270 Committee Members in 2014. During this National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re taking time to honor you and express our gratitude. You helped raise $2.9 million in event revenue to drive research to find cures for children’s cancer.
Because of your commitment, CureSearch-sponsored research achieved some amazing results in the last 12 months. Our research grantees:
- Developed two new treatment strategies for Ewing sarcoma
- Discovered one new treatment for an upcoming Phase I clinical trial
- Investigated more than 20,000 cancer genes to help identify causes and treatments
- Screened more than 43 drugs to study resistance in medulloblastoma
Please know how much you are helping to accelerate the search for cures and inspiring us and the thousands of families affected by children’s cancer each year. The time, energy, and passion you devote to supporting our work to find cures moves me on a personal level. I stand with you – shoulder to shoulder – to fight each day to make sure every child has the future he or she deserves.
On behalf of everyone at CureSearch, thank you. I am eternally grateful for you and all you do.
Sincerely,
Laura Thrall
