How Your Support for CureSearch Goes Beyond #GivingTuesday

Five years ago, something happened that inspired over 30,000 diverse organizations, individuals and communities to create positive change. It was called #GivingTuesday. This global movement was created to help kick off the holiday season and to get consumers to give back, but for nonprofits like CureSearch, it was an additional opportunity to inspire people to make a difference.

When CureSearch was founded over 25 years ago, our goal was to support research that would put an end to children’s cancer. Since then, nothing about our missions has changed. In fact, we’ve only become more passionate about finding cures. Unfortunately, the country’s focus on finding children’s cancer cures also has not changed. There is still a continued lack of government funding for children’s cancer cures, and in the last 20 years only three cancer medications have been specifically approved for children.

With these kind of disheartening facts, we can’t ignore the need for more children’s cancer research that leads to cures. We don’t think that #GivingTuesday should be the only day to give to a good cause. For us, every day is a day to give hope to children diagnosed with cancer. That means we need as much support as possible, every single day. That support goes directly toward programs like the Acceleration Initiative and Young Investigators to help accelerate the search for cancer cures.

Take a look at exactly how your support makes a difference:

Your Support Makes a Difference

Without your support and the hard work of researchers doing their best to find cures, we couldn’t do what we do. We couldn’t give hope to the 43 parents who are told every day, “your child has cancer.”

But what we can do, taking inspiration from #GivingTuesday and applying it to our everyday mission, is continue to fight for superheroes like Jaxon Diaz. Watch to see why:

There isn’t a single children’s cancer cure, just like there isn’t a single day you can make a difference. #GivingTuesday is a great day to be inspired and take action, but know that every day is a day you can give back and save a life.
