Caitlyn W. Barrett, PhD, National Director, Research and Programs, oversees CureSearch’s pediatric cancer research grant portfolio which includes the Catapult Award, Acceleration Initiative and the Young Investigator’s Program. Dr. Barrett also administers the CureSearch Scientific Advisory Council and Scientific Review Committee and serves as a liaison between academic pediatric cancer researchers and key stakeholders: donors, advocates, strategic partners etc.
Prior to joining CureSearch in 2018, Dr. Barrett received a PhD in Cancer Biology from Vanderbilt University and completed post-doctoral research training in Cell Biology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Barrett then worked as a Program Manager in the Office of Cancer Genomics at the National Cancer Institute. She now brings her subject matter expertise in Cancer, Cellular, and Molecular Biology to CureSearch to help find new cures for pediatric cancers.
