To the CureSearch Community:
Like you, we’re closely monitoring the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19. With the safety of our patient families, volunteers and staff top of mind, all CureSearch-sponsored events through June 1st have been postponed, including our annual CureSearch Summit and spring Ultimate Hike events. We hope that you’ll continue to participate in and support these important events later in the year; they are critical in our ability to drive our mission forward.
If you are a childhood cancer patient family, please stay in touch with your home hospital and medial team for additional information and guidance. COVID-19 precautions for childhood cancer patients and survivors are also available via new educational resources from the Childrenโs Oncology Group: childrensoncologygroup.org
Despite the challenges we face, it’s important to remember that our kids can’t wait for new, better cancer treatments. That’s why we’ll continue to raise funds, support new research, and drive critical collaborations to accelerate the pace of pediatric drug development. We can’t do it without you.
Here are a few ways that you can stay involved and help ensure critical research continues to be funded:
- Launch a Facebook fundraiser. Help make sure critical funds continue to be raised without leaving your home! Getting started is easy: facebook.com/fund/curesearch/
- Register for a fall event. Plan ahead to get outside later this year for an Ultimate Hike or form a team for a CureSearch Walk. Find an event near you: curesearch.org/Fundraise
- Spead the word. Share posts, images and stories from our social media platforms.
- Volunteer. Lend your time, expertise and passion now, or when the time is right. curesearch.org/Volunteer-Opportunities-Form
- Donate. Like many non-profits, our fundraising efforts have been impacted by COVID-19 but we’re working hard to make sure that research funding continues and new treatments reach the kids that need our help now. We appreciate and rely upon the continued support of our generous donors. If you’re able to, please click here to give today.
Additionally, the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), which went into effect in March 2020, includes changes to charitable contribution tax laws that benefit both donors and nonprofits and help ensure that we can continue to support the 43 kids who are still being diagnosed each day.ย Here’s what you need to know.
We’re grateful to our entire community for your support and understanding during this time as we take all precautions to ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers and staff. Thank you for your continued commitment to finding new, better treatments for the kids who are counting on us.
Sincerely,
