Here’s why you need to add your disruptive voice to the call to protect the future of all children with cancer:
Meet a few of our favorite disruptors below, and learn how they carved their impact in stone…
Oprah Winfrey – Talk Show Host, Actress, Producer, Publisher, Philanthropist.
Winfrey, also known as the ‘Queen of All Media,’ made her big disruption in the mid-eighties when her talk show became the highest-rated program of its kind in history. She later started her own production company, starred in films, created a book club and so much more. She overcame extreme poverty to became one the richest and most influential African Americans in the world, and she did it while being a role model to females and by giving back to charity organizations and children in South Africa.
Richard Branson – Entrepreneur, Investor, Philanthropist.
Branson disrupted the retail and music scene in 1972 when he opened Virgin Megastores. His Virgin brand later expanded into Virgin Atlantic Airline and Virgin Records, and today he holds more than 200 companies in more than 30 countries. He’s also one of the founding members of The Elders, an independent group of global leaders working together for peace and human rights.
Ellen DeGeneres – Comedian. Talk Show Host. Animal Rights & LGBT Activist.
Television, and the world, was disrupted in 1997 when DeGeneres came out as a lesbian. She was the first lead character in sitcom history to acknowledge her homosexuality, and despite facing much criticism, she received even more praise from gay-rights activists. She’s hosted award shows, has her own show, voiced a Disney character, fights for animal rights and she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016 for her contributions to the arts.
Mark Zuckerberg – Internet Entrepreneur. Philanthropist.
Zuckerberg majorly disrupted the tech and internet space when he launched the social network Facebook from his dorm room at Harvard. Since then, he’s become one of the youngest billionaires in the world, being named Time magazine’s person of the year in 2010 and beating out Apple CEO Steve Jobs in Forbes’ ‘top 400’ list. He has used his millions to support philanthropic efforts in education, and signed ‘The Giving Pledge’ to donate to charity at least half of his wealth over the course of time.
Now it’s time for your brand to make an impact that no one can erase.
