Summer 2016 Impact Report Connects Research to Results

CureSearch Summer 2016 Impact ReportScientists testing six new therapies for high-risk brain cancer. A promising new therapy for Ewing sarcoma, the second most common bone cancer in children. The release of an exciting new Catapult Initiative that will propel discoveries over the Valley of Death and move treatments and cures out of the lab and into clinical trials and eventual commercialization.

All of these things have a common goal of finding a cure for every child diagnosed with cancer. They’re also all featured in our 2016 Summer Impact Report.

Other highlights of the report include an update on Acceleration Initiative 3, which will award $2-3M over three years to those dedicated to finding a way to overcome scientific and therapeutic roadblocks, and a focus on the six Young Investigator 2 grantees who are all working toward finding new cancer treatments for children.

In this mid-year issue, you’ll also meet Sydney Hawk, who was diagnosed with Philadelphia-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) when she was just three years old. She’s a survivor and an inspiration to everyone, and the very reason why CureSearch hopes to find a cure for every child diagnosed with cancer.

We are proud to connect research to results in this year’s issue, and we hope that you will take the time to read through it.
