The Gold Mine is a mine of resources for Gold Getters and those passionate about bringing awareness to pediatric cancer research, especially during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A Gold Getter is someone who is passionate about bringing awareness to pediatric cancer through the use of the color gold. This dedicated group of volunteers works in partnership with CureSearch for Children’s Cancer to plan awareness events in their communities and then share their efforts on social media using the #MakeItGoldForKids.

The Golden Moment

Greetings Gold Getters,

Thank you for being a driving force behind #MakeItGoldForKids!

September is right around the corner, so it is time for us to get our plans lined up to ensure that great awareness is brought to childhood cancer this September.

To help get you started, here are three easy ways you can help #MakeItGoldForKids right now:

1. Watch the Gold Getter training video.

   We don’t want to send our troops to battle without proper training, so we recorded this video that shows how Gold Getters can lead this Golden movement.

2. Spread the word through Thunderclap.

   Thunderclap allows us to link all our social media pages and post about #MakeItGoldForKids at the very same time on September 1st. By doing this, we have a greater chance of creating a trending campaign and creating more awareness for childhood cancer! Questions about Thunderclap? Watch this video.

3. Plan how you will #MakeItGoldForKids this September.

   It will be September before we know it, so start putting plans in place to turn your community gold! If you want your kid’s school or your office to host a gold day, that may take approval by several people, so now is a great time to start asking. If you’re thinking bigger, like turning a monument in your city gold, make sure you ask your city council early so you have plenty of time to execute your plan.

It’s a proven fact that people don’t follow the leader, they follow the first followers, so I couldn’t be more excited to have such a dedicated group of supporters helping us forge this golden path. Your participation in the #MakeItGoldForKids campaign makes all the difference and will be the reason splashes of gold will be everywhere come September.
